| Anmerkung | The 1970 Monaco Grand Prix was held on May 10, 1970. It was the third of 13 races in the 1970 World Championship of Formula One, with Jochen Rindt taking the last victory for the famous Lotus 49. It was 118 days before September 5, 1970, the day of practice for the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, where he spun into the guardrails after a defect in his car’s brake shaft. Rindt succumbed to his serious injuries on the way to hospital. As his closest competitor Jacky Ickx was unable to score sufficient points in the remaining races of the season, Rindt became the only driver awarded the World Championship posthumously. |
